Learn To Dress According To Your Body Shape

The point is what body type on earth am I? To find out the answer, we need to measure our body. Here is a simple way to measure your body and according to the measurement, you can be roughly aware what body shape you are.

Step 1: Measure yourself.

Standing in the front of a mirror. Put on your tight garment or stay naked. We need to measure shoulder, bust, waist and hip.

Shoulder: Put your arms down naturally, close your legs together. Ask your boyfriend or your bestie to help you. Find the widest part of your shoulder, which means your data won't be big or small when moving up or down, and record the data all around you.

Bust: Breathe naturally, put the measuring tape around your breast, make sure it cross the widest part of your breast. In case of the difference when breathing, you can measure it three times and take the average rate.

Waist: Unlike measuring shoulder and breast, you need to measure the smallest part of your waist. Normally it is above the belly button.

Hip: Stand still, don't hold tight or pout your hip. Use the measuring tape to measure the widest part around your hip.

Notice: All the measurement should not be too taut and it is acceptable to have the adjustment of one finger width.

Step 2: What body type am I?

Take out the data and check out which body shape description that you are in!

1. Hourglass

Shoulder and hip are almost the same size, with a obvious smaller waist line.

Equation: You waist should be at least 25% smaller than your shoulder or bust. Shoulder should be within hip 5%.

shoulder- hip < shoulder * 0.05 or hip - shoulder < hip * 0.05

Hourglass is kind of the most perfect body shape. It is also called X body shape. People who are in hourglass body type have a more obvious silhouette, which look more sexy. And they have more options on picking the right clothes for themselves.

Tips: It would better to put on those zoom your curly body like the fitting cutting. But be careful, if your waist is slim enough, don't emphasize it overly, Otherwise, your hip will be too much visually.

2. Pear

Pear Body Shape

Hip is wider than shoulder or bust.

Equation: Hip is larger than bust or shoulder over 5%.

Hip / shoulder or bust ≧ 1.05

Pear body shape is also called A or triangle body shape. Obviously, people with pear body type has a large lower body and a smaller upper body.

Tips: It would be much better to pick those highlight your upper body silhouette to balance your whole visual body look.

3. Rectangle

Rectangle body shape

Shoulder, bust and hip are almost in the same size with no obvious smaller waist.

Equation: The difference between every two data is no more than 5%. And your waist is less than 20% smaller than your shoulder or bust.

Rectangle body shape is also called H body type. People with rectangle body type look straight. Though they might have a taller vision, without defined silhouette, they are less feminine.

Apple body shape

Shoulder or bust is larger than hip.

Equation: You bust or your shoulder is larger than your hip over 5%, or both your bust and your shoulder are larger than your hip over 5%.

Apple body shape is kind of the opposite to pear shape: one is large on the upper body while the other is large on the lower body. Apple body shape is also called Y or inverted triangle body shape. With broad shoulders, people who are in apple body type might look masculine.
